Dealing with frequent pop ups displaying PC error messages is annoying. You can never get anything done with these windows showing up so often. What's even more annoying is that no one can easily tell you where the error is coming from or what's causing it.

I want to help you get rid of these errors and in this article I'll share with you a couple of ways you can try to do just that.

Scanning For Errors

Often times errors of this nature originate from a part of Windows® known as the registry. The Windows® registry is the central system of your operating system. It stores important information about most programs installed on your computer, hardware associated with your PC and also allocates memory to programs you have open.

As we use our computers this part of the operating system can become very bogged down with extra data. Often information that is no longer needed or out of date. There is no efficient way for Windows® to deal with this data so it just lets it accumulate. Unfortunately you're left figuring out how to deal with the situation once errors start to show up.

Registry cleaners are useful utilities designed to scan your registry for the types of items that can result in annoying errors. The process takes less then a half an hour and most programs have a free utility that you can test before having to purchase the whole thing.

Dealing with Corrupt Programs

If a registry cleaner isn't able to improve the performance of your computer it's possible that the problems are not concentrated in the registry but instead are localized to a particular program. In order to fix this you usually must remove the program via the control panel and add/remove programs function, then install the program again once completely removed.

Before removing a program you must be sure that you've backed up any information and files created with that application. There's a good chance that the files created with particular software could be gone after you remove the software. If this is the case having the backup will ensure you can work on those files again after reinstalling.

To know which program you should be removing note when the error is occurring. If it's always happening when you open or close the same piece of software then this is likely the culprit.

If All Else Fails

If you're unable to solve the issue by running a registry cleaner, the error isn't confined to just one program, or after reinstalling the error is still occurring you're going to need more serious measures.

The easy route is to bring your machine into a PC repair shop to let a tech look at it. The other alternative is to backup all you can and start from scratch. Most computers have restore cd/dvd discs with them, this is an easy method of wiping the slate clean and starting from scratch. Remember though this method will remove everything that is on your PC. You want to be sure that you have all your important files and data backed up before deciding to do this.
